Best QB Matchups

Player Matchup Dashboard: Passing YPG

  • Jordan Love (O232.5 passing yards) and the Packers will host a Lions’ defense that ranks 28th in passing YPG allowed and 26th in passes of 10+ yards. Heavy rain and wind in the forecast in GB should be monitored. Love exited Green Bay’s Week 8 matchup against Jacksonville early with a groin injury but is expected to play this week. The Lions are allowing nearly 265 passing YPG, in part because their offense is so efficient that opponents are often playing from behind. Geno Smith (38-56, 395 yards, 1 TD, INT), Sam Darnold (22-27, 259 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and even Mason Rudolph (22-38, 266 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT’s) have cleared this total over the L4 weeks.
  • Joe Flacco (O235.5 passing yards) will face a Vikings’ secondary that ranks 31st in passing YPG and 30th in passes of 10+ yards. Minnesota is excellent in defending the run, ranking 3rd in rushing YPG, 4th in YPC and 3rd in runs of 10+ yards, meaning that the Colts will need Flacco to stand in the pocket and push the ball down the field to stay competitive in this game. Five of the L6 QB’s to face this secondary have cleared this number, and a few in particular have done so in spectacular fashion – Brock Purdy (26-36, 319 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and Jordan Love (32-54, 389 yards, 4 TD’s, 3 INT’s).
  • Jalen Hurts (O215.5 passing yards) and the Eagles will host one of the worst secondaries in the league in Jacksonville on Sunday. The Jags rank 30th in EPA/play and YPP allowed, 30th in passing YPG, 31st in YPA and 29th in passes of 10+ yards allowed and have been torched by Josh Allen (23-30, 263 yards, 4 TD’s), CJ Stroud (27-40, 345 yards, 2 TD’s), Joe Flacco (33-44, 359 yards, 3 TD’s) and Caleb Williams (23-29, 226 yards, 4 TD’s, 1 INT) in the last month and a half. Hurts, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith should take advantage of a matchup against one of the league’s worst secondaries.

Best RB Matchups

Player Matchup Dashboard: Rushing YPG

  • Kyren Williams (O89.5 rushing yards) and the Rams will face a Seattle run defense that ranks 29th in rushing YPG and 28th in YPC. Kyren Williams leads the league in carry share – he gets nearly 76% of touches on the ground for the Rams. The Seahawks are allowing opponents to run for nearly 181 rushing YPG over the L4 weeks – James Cook (17 carries, 111 yards, 6.5 YPC, 2 TD’s), Bijan Robinson (21 carries, 103 yards, 4.9 YPC, 1 TD), Tyrone Tracy (18 carries, 129 yards, 7.2 YPC) and Jahmyr Gibbs (14 carries, 78 yards, 5.6 YPC, 2 TD’s) have all taken advantage of this front in the last month.
  • Aaron Jones (O74.5 rushing yards) has been productive out of the backfield in his first season with the Vikings and now faces an IND defense that ranks 30th in rushing YPG and 31st in runs of 10+ yards. Joe Mixon (25 carries, 102 yards, 1 TD), De’Von Achane (15 carries, 77 yards, 5.1 YPC), Tony Pollard (17 carries, 93 yards, 5.5 YPC, 1 TD) and Tank Bigsby (13 carries, 101 yards, 7.8 YPC, 2 TD’s) have all cleared this number over the L4 games against Indy.
  • Bijan Robinson (O71.5 rushing yards) matches up against a Cowboys’ run defense that ranks 31st in rushing YPG, 27th in YPC, 27th in runs of 10+ yards and just allowed SF (223 rushing yards), DET (184 rushing yards) and BAL (274 rushing yards) to roll over them over the last month and a half. Robinson has cleared this number in 2 of his L3 games, both of which were against defenses that ranked in the league’s bottom 10 in rushing defense.
  • Alvin Kamara (O71.5 rushing yards) has faced some stout run defenses over the last month but cleared this number in his first four starts of 2024 – he will have an opportunity to post significant production on Sunday against a Carolina defense that ranks 28th in rushing YPG and 31st in YPC. Washington (214 yards rushing total) and Atlanta (198 yards rushing total) have both steamrolled this front 7 in 2 of the L3 weeks, and Kamara himself ran for 83 yards on just 15 touches in the Saints’ Week 1 matchup with the Panthers.
  • De’Von Achane (O50.5 rushing yards) and the Dolphins will head to Buffalo to face a Bills’ run defense that ranks 22nd in YPC allowed and 27th in runs of 10+ yards. Achane continues to be one of the most explosive RB’s in football and benefitted from Tua’s return on Week 8 against Arizona – he ran for 97 yards on just 10 carries and caught 6 balls for 50 yards on 8 targets. Achane has cleared this number in each of the L2 weeks and ran for 96 yards on 22 carries in Miami’s first meeting with Buffalo, where he also caught 7 balls for 76 yards on 7 targets. Buffalo also ranks 32nd in the league in RB receiving yards allowed.

Best WR Matchups

Player Matchup Dashboard: Receiving YPG

  • AJ Brown (O84.5 receiving yards) ranks 2nd in the league in receiving YPG and should once again be a centerpiece of Philly’s offensive scheme against a Jacksonville secondary that ranks 30th in passing YPG, 31st in YPA and 29th in passes of 10+ yards allowed. Brown has cleared this figure in 3 of his 4 starts this season, and the Eagles will once again be without TE Dallas Goedert, which means that target share should continue to be heavily concentrated on Brown and DeVonta Smith, who combined for 11 receptions, 169 yards and 1 TD on 13 targets last week against Cincy.
  • Travis Kelce (O60.5 receiving yards) continues to be the steady presence in the revolving door of targets for Mahomes in 2024. Kelce had a slow start to the season, but has seen a significant uptick in targets and receptions over the L4 weeks in which he is averaging 7.5 receptions, 9 targets and nearly 67 receiving YPG. Kelce has cleared this number in 3 of his L4 games and now faces a TB defense that ranks 30th in TE receiving yards allowed on the season. Kyle Pitts caught 4 balls for 91 yards and 2 TD’s against TB last week.
  • Justin Jefferson (O84.5 receiving yards) continues to be one of if not the most effective receiver in football with Sam Darnold under center – he is averaging 92.3 receiving YPG, ranks 4th in in the league in receptions of 10+ yards and 3rd in receptions of 20+. Jefferson and the Vikings will face an Indy secondary that ranks 25th in passing YPG and 26th in YPA at home in Week 9. Jefferson caught 8 balls for 115 yards on 9 targets against LAR’s 19th ranked secondary on TNF last week and should have the target volume to carve up Indy’s secondary in Week 9.
