Best QB Matchups
Player Matchup Dashboard: Passing YPG
- Bo Nix (O217.5 passing yards) is averaging over 257 passing YPG over the L4 weeks off a Week 11 performance in which he finished 28-33 for 307 yards and 4 TD’s at home in Week 11 against an average Atlanta secondary that ranks 18th in passing YPG and 21st in passes of 10+ yards allowed. Nix will face a Raiders’ secondary dealing with cluster injuries at CB – they will be without two of their top CB’s, while Jack Jones DNP Thursday, was a limited participant Friday and is a question mark heading into Sunday. Tua Tagovailoa (28-36, 288 passing yards, 3 TD’s) and Joe Burrow (27-39, 251 passing yards, 5 TD’s, 1 INT) have enjoyed success against this secondary over the L2 weeks, and Nix should have an opportunity to do the same against a secondary that’s banged up.
- Jared Goff (O243.5 passing yards) just threw for 449 yards passing against a Jags’ secondary that is among the league’s worst in Week 11; he will now face an Indy secondary that ranks 26th in passing YPG, 27th in YPA and passes of 10+ yards. Goff should continue to find success through the air in Week 12 against a secondary that’s allowed Josh Allen (22-37, 280 yards, 2 INT’s), Sam Darnold (28-34, 290 yards, 3 TD’s, 2 INT’s) and CJ Stroud (25-37, 285 yards, 1 TD) to post significant production in 3 of the L4 weeks.
- Justin Herbert (O258.5 passing yards) is averaging over 294 passing YPG over the L5 weeks and has cleared this number in 4 of the L5 games; the only game in that stretch in which he did not was against the Titans’ secondary that ranks 1st in passing YPG allowed on the season. Herbert will now line up on MNF against a Baltimore secondary that ranks 32nd in passing YPG, 24th in YPA and 32nd in passes of 10+ yards. Joe Burrow (34-56, 428 yards, 4 TD’s) and Jameis Winston (27-41, 334 yards, 3 TD’s) are the most recent QB’s to light up this secondary over the last month. Considering that Baltimore’s run defense ranks 2nd in rushing YPG allowed and 1st in both YPC and runs of 10+ allowed, the Chargers will likely need to rely heavily on Herbert to sustain offense.
Best RB Matchups
Player Matchup Dashboard: Rushing YPG
- Kareem Hunt (O73.5 rushing yards) will line up against the worst run defense in football in Carolina on Sunday – the Panthers rank 32nd in rushing YPG allowed and 23rd in runs of 10+ yards. Isiah Pacheco had an opportunity to return to the field in Week 12 but has been ruled out, meaning that Hunt should get the bulk of carries against a defense that has been consistently rolled on in the ground game by Tyrone Tracy (18 carries, 103 yards, 1 TD), Alvin Kamara (29 carries, 155 yards), Tyler Allgeier (18 carries, 105 yards, 1 TD) and Bijan Robinson (15 carries, 95 yards, 2 TD’s) over the L5 weeks. Hunt has gotten 20+ carries in 4 of his L6 starts and should have opportunity to produce volume on Sunday.
- Jahmyr Gibbs (O69.5 rushing yards) will enjoy an excellent matchup against a Colts’ run defense that ranks 28th in rushing YPG and 31st in runs of 10+ yards allowed. Gibbs is tied for 4th in the league in both runs of 10+ and 20+ on the season and is averaging nearly 80 rushing YPG with 8 rushing TD’s in total on the season – he has cleared this number in 6 of his L9 starts.
- Brian Robinson (O71.5 rushing yards) and the Commanders will face a Cowboys’ run defense that ranks 31st in rushing YPG, 28th in YPC and 26th in runs of 10+ yards allowed on the season. Joe Mixon (20 carries, 109 yards, 3 TD’s) most recently rolled on this front 7, while Robinson has gotten at least 16 carries in 5 of his L7 starts and has posted a rushing TD in 6 of 8 starts this season.
Best WR Matchups
Player Matchup Dashboard: Receiving YPG
- AJ Brown (O92.5 receiving yards) ranks 5th in the league in receiving YPG and will now face a Rams’ secondary that ranks 25th in passing YPG allowed and 30th in YPA. DeVonta Smith has been ruled out – the Eagles lack a viable 3rd option at WR and will as a result rely heavily on Brown, Goedert and Calcaterra in the passing game. Drake Maye and the Patriots posted 282 yards passing on the Rams in Week 11, while Justin Jefferson (8 receptions, 115 yards) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (7 receptions, 180 yards, 2 TD’s) have had success against this secondary over the last month.
- Jameson Williams (O40.5 receiving yards) is a low volume, boom-or-bust candidate in Detroit’s passing game but will face an Indy secondary that ranks 26th in passing YPG, 27th in both YPA and passes of 10+ yards. Williams has cleared this number 6 of 8 starts this season and is averaging 66+ receiving YPG. He most recently caught 4 balls for 124 yards and 1 TD on 6 targets in Week 11 against Jacksonville and should have opportunities to take the top off this secondary in Week 12.
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba (O55.5 receiving yards) has been one of the most productive receivers in football over the last month or so and now lines up against an Arizona secondary that ranks 21st in passing YPG and 24th in passes of 10+ yards. He is averaging nearly 8 receptions, 10+ targets and nearly 120 receiving YPG over the L3 weeks.
- Courtland Sutton (O58.5 receiving yards) has emerged as Bo Nix’s favored target and is averaging 7 receptions, 9.5 targets and 92.5 receiving YPG over the L4 weeks. Sutton and the Broncos will face a Raiders’ secondary that will be without two of their top corners and should have opportunities to move the ball through the air in Week 12 against a unit that has allowed Tua Tagovailoa (28-36, 288 passing yards, 3 TD’s) and Joe Burrow (27-39, 251 passing yards, 5 TD’s, 1 INT) to have success in the L2 weeks.
